Privacy policy
Tesseract was built so your data stays on your computer. Here is, item by item, the little that leaves it and why.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Enzo Lanzi, an individual trading as Lanzi Labs. For any request about your data: [email protected].
In the app: it stays on your computer
Projects, tasks, finances, clients, documents and notes live in a local database on your machine. We have no access to them, and the app sends no telemetry or usage statistics.
Only what is listed below leaves your computer:
- Update check: when it opens, the app asks our site whether there is a new version. This reveals your IP address and the installed version. You can turn it off in Settings › Updates.
- Pro license: to activate and renew, the app sends your email, a random computer identifier and the name Windows gives the computer.
- External AI: off by default. If you turn it on, the text you approve goes to the provider you chose, shown before sending.
- Services you turn on: Apify (with your key), the Google Maps collector (runs on your computer), WhatsApp links. Each receives only what the task you asked for needs.
- Cloud backup: goes encrypted to your own folder (OneDrive, Google Drive and similar). We do not receive a copy.
On the website
- Beta list: if you sign up, we keep your email to tell you when Tesseract opens. You can ask to be removed at any time.
- Hosting and security: the site runs on Cloudflare, which processes your IP to serve pages and block attacks.
- Fonts: the site's fonts come from Google Fonts, which receives your IP when the page loads.
- The site uses no tracking cookies or analytics tools.
With a subscription
- Payment: checkout is run by the payment provider, which handles your payment data under its own policy. We receive back only the email, the billing cycle, the due date and whether the subscription is active.
- License: we keep the email, the activated computers (identifier, name, activation date and last check) and the subscription, to enforce the 2 seats.
- Email code: the 6-digit code is sent through Resend and is valid for 10 minutes. We keep only a hashed version until it expires.
Why we process this data
- License, subscription and the email code: to perform our contract with you.
- Beta list: with your consent, which you can withdraw.
- Update check and site security: our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and up to date.
- Payment records: legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers needed for the service to work: Cloudflare (hosting and license data), Resend (email delivery), the payment provider, and Google (site fonts). Some of them are outside your country, which means an international transfer, made with providers that adopt data protection safeguards. We do not sell data.
How long we keep it
- Beta list: until launch or until you ask to leave.
- License data: while the subscription exists and for up to 5 years after, for legal obligations and the defense of possible disputes.
- Email code: 10 minutes.
Your rights
You can ask for confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization or deletion, portability, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. Write to [email protected]; we reply within 15 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated, and important changes are announced on the site and by email to subscribers.
