Terms of use
The rules for using Tesseract, on the Free and Pro plans. Written to be read.
Who we are
Tesseract is a Windows app made by Enzo Lanzi, an individual trading as Lanzi Labs, based in Brazil. Contact: [email protected].
What Tesseract is
A desktop app that organizes projects, finances, clients, documents and notes on your computer. It works offline and keeps everything in a local database on your machine.
There are two plans: Free, for personal use, with limits; and Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription with every feature. What each plan includes and the price are on the download page.
Beta
Tesseract is in beta. It may have bugs and change between versions. Keep backups (the app has local backups and encrypted backups to your own cloud folder) and do not use the beta as the only place for anything you cannot lose.
License
Tesseract's public code is distributed under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license. Pro features and the "Tesseract" name and logo are not part of that license.
A Pro subscription gives you, personally, the right to use Pro on up to 2 computers at a time. You can free a seat from inside the app. The license is personal: it cannot be resold or shared.
Subscription, renewal and cancellation
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year), using the payment method chosen at checkout.
- Prices may change for new subscriptions; current subscribers are notified before any change to their own price.
- You can cancel at any time, through the payment provider's link sent by email or by writing to us. Pro keeps working until the end of the period already paid.
- The app checks the license online from time to time. Without internet, Pro stays active for up to 7 days after the paid period ends.
Your data when Pro ends
Nothing is deleted. If the subscription ends, or you go over a Free limit, your data stays readable and exportable; the app only stops creating beyond the limit. Backup, full export and reading your own data are always free.
What you may not do
- Bypass the license check or the plan limits.
- Use Tesseract for anything illegal, including collecting or processing people's data without a legal basis.
- Use the Tesseract name or logo on copies or derived products.
Third-party services and AI
Some features rely on services you turn on yourself, with your own account: external AI providers, Apify, the Google Maps collector, WhatsApp. Their use follows each service's terms, and you are responsible for what you collect and send (for example, lead data in prospecting).
AI answers, local or external, can be wrong. Check them before making an important decision.
Liability
We do our best for Tesseract to work well and protect your data, but we do not guarantee it is free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or loss of data without a backup. Nothing here limits the consumer rights you have under the law of your country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Important changes are announced on the site and by email to subscribers, in advance. The date of the last update is at the top of the page.
Governing law
Brazilian law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
